HAC-12
Inline Fresh Air
Damper — 120 Vac
Built-In Transformer · No Low-Voltage Circuit Required · CSA Certified · 4"–9"
- Same HAC spring return performance — runs directly on 120 Vac
- Built-in transformer steps 120 Vac to 24 Vac internally — no separate transformer needed
- PO or PC spring return — same fail-safe operation as standard HAC
- End switch available — relay not available on motor code 12
- CSA certified for Canadian and US installations
- Sizes 4"–9" — 2" and 3" available in 24 Vac HAC only
- 2-year electrical / 10-year mechanical warranty
Need heat bypass at 120 Vac → HAC-12H
Need insulated body at 120 Vac → HAC-12L
Need 2" or 3" → standard HAC (24 Vac) only
What It Does
Same HAC performance at 120 Vac. No separate transformer. No low-voltage circuit required.
The HAC-12 is the 120 Vac version of the standard HAC inline fresh air damper. A built-in transformer steps 120 Vac down to 24 Vac internally — you run a single 120 Vac switched circuit to the damper and it handles the voltage conversion. No separate transformer to mount, no secondary low-voltage wiring run, no additional panel space required. Same open/close control, same spring return fail-safe, same PO/PC configuration as the standard HAC.
HAC vs. HAC-12 — Which to Order
The decision is determined entirely by what voltage is available at the damper location.
| Choose standard HAC (24 Vac) when… | Choose HAC-12 (120 Vac) when… |
|---|---|
| 24 Vac control circuit is already at the damper location | Only 120 Vac is available at the damper location |
| Thermostat or ventilation controller outputs 24 Vac | Damper is controlled from a 120 Vac switch or timer |
| ADP relay adaptor required for furnace fan sequencing | Simple on/off control from a switched 120 Vac circuit |
| New construction with low-voltage control infrastructure | Retrofit where running low-voltage wire is impractical or costly |
| Sizes 2" or 3" required | Sizes 4"–9" and 120 Vac is the available supply |

Configuration Guide
Select size, action, and end switch. No relay option on HAC-12. PO/PC cannot be changed after installation.
| Variant Code | Action | End Switch | Part Number Example (6") |
|---|---|---|---|
| OPO | Power Open | No end switch | HAC-0612-OPO |
| SPO | Power Open | End switch included | HAC-0612-SPO |
| OPC | Power Close | No end switch | HAC-0612-OPC |
| SPC | Power Close | End switch included | HAC-0612-SPC |
PO vs. PC — Which Action for Your Application
| Action | When Powered | Fail-Safe on Power Loss | Typical Application |
|---|---|---|---|
| PO — Power Open | Damper opens | Spring-closes — duct seals | Fresh air intake, make-up air — standard |
| PC — Power Close | Damper closes | Spring-opens — duct stays open | Applications requiring fail-open on power loss |
