120 Vac version of the standard HAC inline fresh air damper. A built-in transformer steps 120 Vac down to 24 Vac internally — run a single switched 120 Vac circuit to the damper and it handles the voltage conversion. No separate transformer, no low-voltage wiring run, no additional panel space. Same spring return open/close operation as the standard HAC. CSA certified. Sizes 4"–9".
Do not supply 24 Vac to a HAC-12. The built-in transformer requires 120 Vac input. Supplying 24 Vac to a 120 Vac unit will result in product damage and will not operate the damper. If 24 Vac is available at the damper location, order the standard HAC.
Confirm PO vs. PC before ordering. The action is set at the factory. A field conversion procedure exists — it requires removing the motor, reversing the spring plate, and remounting the drive — but this is not practical once the unit is installed in a duct run. PO is correct for the vast majority of fresh air intake and make-up air applications. PC is used only when fail-open on power loss is required by the system design.
✓Built-in 120 Vac to 24 Vac transformer — one switched 120 Vac circuit to the damper; no separate transformer to mount, no secondary low-voltage run
✓Same spring return operation as the standard HAC — Hansen motor with 24 Vac spring return mechanism internally; same PO/PC fail-safe behavior
✓Retrofit-ready — ideal when a 120 Vac switched circuit is already at the damper location and running new low-voltage wiring through finished walls is impractical
✓PO or PC action, end switch available — all factory-installed; relay not available on HAC-12
✓CSA certified — complete assembly, Canadian and US installations
✓120 Vac variants available — HAC-12H adds 10% heat bypass for zone control; HAC-12L adds factory insulation for cold climate installs
Use HAC-12 (120 Vac) when…
✓Only 120 Vac is available at the damper location
✓Damper controlled from a 120 Vac switch, timer, or line-voltage relay
✓Retrofit where running low-voltage wire is impractical or costly
✓Simple on/off control — no ADP furnace fan sequencing required
Use standard HAC (24 Vac) when…
→24 Vac control circuit is already at the damper location
→ADP relay adaptor needed for furnace fan sequencing
→Relay output required from the damper
→Sizes 2" or 3" required

120 Vac + 10% heat bypass — hot air duct zone control at 120 Vac sites
Need ADP furnace fan sequencing? The ADP relay adaptor series is designed for 24 Vac control circuits and is not directly compatible with the HAC-12's 120 Vac supply. For applications requiring fresh air damper interlock with the furnace fan, use the standard 24 Vac HAC with the appropriate ADP relay adaptor. If only 120 Vac is available and furnace fan sequencing is required, discuss the wiring approach with your controls supplier.
