The HAC-12L combines two features in one unit: the 120 Vac built-in transformer of the HAC-12 and the factory-insulated body of the HAC-L. For one specific situation — a fresh air damper location that is both on a 120 Vac site and in unconditioned or semi-conditioned space where condensation on the damper body is a concern. Both conditions must be present. If only one applies, one of the single-feature variants is the correct order. CSA certified. Sizes 4"–9".
Do not supply 24 Vac to a HAC-12L. The built-in transformer requires 120 Vac input. Supplying 24 Vac will result in product damage and will not operate the damper.
The HAC-12L insulates the damper body only. The duct run from the exterior penetration to the HAC-12L still requires insulation per code — insulate the duct separately.

Need relay output or ADP furnace fan sequencing? Motor code 12 does not include relay capability on any 120 Vac variant. For cold climate fresh air with relay and ADP interlock, use the HAC-L (24 Vac) with the relay option and the appropriate ADP relay adaptor. If the site is 120 Vac only, discuss a line-voltage relay approach with your controls supplier.
