Manual Balance Dampers

Set-and-lock airflow balancing for duct runs where a fixed restriction needs to stay exactly where you set it. Commission with instruments, lock the blade and walk away. No motor, no wiring, nothing to fail. Galvanized steel, 4 to 20 in. including odd-inch sizes, 10-year mechanical warranty.

When to use a manual balance damper

• Setting a fixed fresh air flow at commissioning, for example on an HRV, ERV or air exchanger intake.
• Balancing supply and return branches that should not change once they are set.
• Low-temperature exhaust air runs.

Manual balance or something else

• Airflow has to open and close with the system: use a motorized damper.
• Static pressure needs relief when zones close: the HAC-BPD back pressure damper opens on its own.
• Air must never flow backward: the BDD back draft damper.

Related: back draft and passive dampers, fresh air dampers and zone dampers.
